Hello Menstrual Cup Double Box

Menstrual Cups are a great alternative to normal female sanitary items, reducing the amount of waste sent to landfill and saving you a lot of money.

The Hello Cup is made here in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand! Made from German medical-grade thermoplastic elastomer, a type of plastic commonly referred to as TPE. TPE is fully recyclable at the end of its life, it is comfortable and soft to the touch and it is hypoallergenic – making it perfect for women who have silicone sensitivities.

Each cup comes in a cotton drawstring pouch, making it easy to store or carry in your handbag. Inside the box is an easy step by step guide to help you get started.

The Hello Cups contain no rubber, latex, PBAs, heavy metals or other nasties. Colours used are certified food grade and comply with EU and FDA standards.

What it replaces & why we love it

Over 7 billion tampons, pads and panty liners end up in landfills around the world each year. Women can spend around $20 (NZD) a month on sanitary items, which is $240 a year. Not only does the switch to menstrual cups save the environment but it also saves you money.

There are many menstrual cups on the market, but we love The Hello cups because it’s made here in NZ, in my home town, Hawkes Bay. I was sold very early on in my sustainable journey by the beautiful packaging and their clear and witty tag lines, its “bloody brilliant”.

Materials

• TPE - German medical grade thermoplastic elastomer. A type of plastic, yes, it is plastic. Not everyone can use rubber, latex or silicone.
• Cotton – each cup comes in a cotton pouch.

Care

After each use, rinse with water. If you are not near a sink, you can simply wipe your Hello Cup out with toilet paper. We recommend changing it every 8 hours if you can.  At the end of your period, sterilise your cup before you put it away, using sterilising tablets or putting you Hello Cup in boiling water for 3 minutes.

End of life

The amazing ladies at The Hello Cup are working on a returns programme for the cups. They have the machinery to recycle them inhouse. All you need to do is send them back, sterilised of course, and they can take care of the rest. The machine returns the cups to their virgin TPE pellets, which is pretty cool, and they will then turn them into other products.

Product Packaging

Packaged in a cute colourful cardboard tube and sealed with a sticker, as pictured. These boxes can be reused for ongoing storage of your hello cups, or you can repurpose them however you see fit.

If you don’t have any further use for the cardboard tube, then make sure you recycle it, rather than throwing it in the general rubbish.

How they come packaged to us

Simple, these ladies were delivered to us in a cardboard box with brown paper tape, which will be reused to send out our eco goodies.
