Recycled “Cool Bag” Bag Limited stock Lilac Dream

Beautiful Lilac Dream print with long handles. This “Cool Bag” bag is made using fabric from a Vintage Pillowcase found in a New Lynn, Auckland op shop, making these “Cool Bags” the ultimate sustainable bag. Because of this stock, is limited and often changes.

• Bag - 42cm wide x 34cm length 
• Handles - 48cm total length

@Little.Eco is all about reducing waste, and each bag is made using recycled materials that would otherwise end up in landfill. With fabrics being vintage or pre-owned, there may be a few imperfections and as each item is handmade pattern placement and handles may not perfectly match the product in the images – but that’s all part of the beauty! To complement the recycled materials there are some new materials used to complete the product and ensure a longer life, such as the handles which are scoured from a local haberdashery.

As these are handmade using recycled materials, stock is limited, and colours and patterns will vary.

What it replaces & why we love it

Plastic bags are nasty, and there are many reasons why we shouldn’t use them. They are lightweight so can easily get swept up by the wind and end up in our waterways and oceans, causing environmental damage and endangering our wildlife. Turtles can mistake plastic bags for their natural food source, jellyfish, and once ingested, animals can’t process the plastic in their system and end up dying.    

On a more positive note, New Zealand has just announced the mandatory phase-out of plastic bags. Which we are super excited about.

@Little.eco has two key objectives with her products - providing plastic alternatives and reducing waste by repurposing old products, we love it!

Materials

• Recycled materials – because the materials used vary, we can’t be specific about what the material is actually used, so we hope you understand. @Little.eco does use Calico and/or Cotton for some parts of the bags
• Handles – cotton webbing or vintage material sourced from a local

Care

To ensure you get a long life from your vintage/pre-owned goodies please handwash only with natural detergents and line dry in shade. 

End of life

If you look after your “Cool Bag” Bag you hopefully won’t need to replace it for a long time. However, if you do, we suggest trying to repair your bag in the first instance. If you are not sure how, please get in touch with us and we may be able to offer some advice. If the bag is beyond repair, then you can cut it down for rags or try repurposing it into another item.

Product Packaging

These @Little.Eco products come with a recycled paper swing tag and cotton string, please place in your kerbside recycle if you are not going to reuse it.
