Stainless Steel Double Layer Tiffin

Traditionally from India, a Tiffin is a great way to enjoy takeaways without the guilt of bringing home plastic containers, and perfect for homemade lunches. It is 16cm in diameter, 9.5cm high with two levels, perfect for your favourite curry in the top level and rice in the bottom level.

The Tiffin’s are made from stainless steel which is durable and long lasting and is a great alternative to plastic. Each Tiffin comes with a convenient and comfortable carry-handle on the lid and each level clips together with robust latches on each side, keeping the contents contained securely.

Please note this product is not leak proof, but it is fair to say if you are not holding it upside down or driving around the corner at speed you shouldn’t have any issues.

What it replaces and why we love it

Takeaway containers are a huge contributor to single-use plastic consumption, and with the world’s current recycling crisis, plastic takeaway containers are largely not being recycled.

Our Tiffin tins get a lot of use in our household. You will often find us enjoying our favourite takeaways without creating any plastic waste. We simply take the tiffin tin to our local takeaway place or restaurant, where we’ve found they are more than willing to accommodate us, and the extra few minutes waiting is worth it to avoid the plastic and polystyrene alternatives.

Because they are made from stainless steel, the tiffin tins also wont leach any plastic toxins over time and will last a lot longer than your plastic alternatives.

As we always say, use what you’ve got first, so if you have other reusables at home, we would encourage you to keep using these rather than buying something new.

Care

Super easy to look after, simply hand wash with hot soapy water or pop in the dishwasher. This is also freezer safe.

End of life

These will keep forever so ensure you take proper care of them. Otherwise, they are 100% recyclable, check with your local recycling facility for correct disposable.

Product Packaging

These come in a reusable or recyclable cardboard box and a paper sticker. Zero plastic!

These eco goodies arrive in a cardboard box, apart from the tape there is no other plastic in this parcel.
