Wooden Dish Brush 5cm

An easy swap and a great place to start your plastic free journey in the kitchen. Made from natural wood and Tampico fibre, this dish brush has a 5cm replaceable head, making it the perfect sustainable alternative to the standard plastic dish brushes from the supermarket.

Tampico is a robust fibre from the yellow leaf of the agave cactus. It has great water-retaining properties, is hard-wearing and keeps its shape without softening. The fibre has tiny hooks on the shafts which give it a natural slightly abrasive quality.

The Dishy brush range is machine made to a very good quality using natural materials, meaning that it’s also biodegradable at the end of its life.

What it replaces & why we love it

Much like the plastic toothbrush, every dish-brush ever made still exists today – which is terrifying. Your traditional cleaning dish- brush has a plastic handle and plastic bristles.

We love this alternative as you can replace the brush heads, reduce waste and because they are made of sustainably sourced and environmentally friendly raw materials which are fully compostable at the end of their life! This is an easy swap and lasts longer than your plastic dish brush.

Materials

• Beechwood - made through a FSC certified manufacturer with sustainability in mind
• Tampico - very robust fibre from the yellow leaf of the agave cactus, which grows only in the highlands of northern Mexico. 

Care

Allow the brush to dry after each use, do not leave soaking in water.  Not suited for the dishwasher.

End of life

The handle should last a very long time, as you can replace the heads.

Replaceable heads can be composted at home or in a commercial facility.

If the handle is no longer usable removed metal parts before composting and check with your local recycling facility if they accept the metal parts.

These guys come with very little packaging, which we love, paper swing tag and elastic string tying it to the product.

How they come packaged to us

These eco goodies arrive in a cardboard box, apart from the tape there is no other plastic in this parcel.
