Glass Coffee Cup 8oz/236ml Mood Indigo

This is one of my personal favourites! JOCO reusable coffee cups are designed to last a lifetime and come in standard industry sizing, making it easy for baristas. This 8oz cup converts to around 236ml, which is typically a regular coffee here in NZ.

The glass construction means that it doesn’t absorb flavours or smells from other beverages and won't leach chemicals as it ages. The specially designed lid allows you to drink comfortably without it touching your nose when trying to get every last drop of coffee goodness, and the tight seal that forms means you can run for the bus without spilling it everywhere! The large silicone sleeve allows you to hold the cup with your whole hand without feeling too much heat through the glass.

What it replaces & why we love it

Kiwi’s love coffee and as a result, we throw away 295 million disposable coffee cups per year! Disposable coffee cups are not recyclable as the paper cup is lined in plastic, which can’t be separated. While better, Bio cups or Compostable cups still aren’t the solution as they can only be disposed of correctly in a commercial composting facility. Therefore, the only truly sustainable solution is a reusable coffee cup. Plus, having your coffee out of glass cup and knowing you are helping to save the planet makes it taste so much better.

My reusable coffee cup symbolises the start of our sustainable journey and was one of the very first lifestyle changes I made in an effort to reduce my waste. In 2008, the Joco brand was born out of a personal protest to the mounting threat of plastic and single-use waste - an issue created by the obsession with cheap convenience that has led to a plastic world with a disposable culture.

• Silicone Sleeve & Lid - 100% plastic-free, precisely formulated, medical grade silicone - certified non-toxic

Care

Dishwasher and Microwave safe, the vessel is thermal shock resistant, scratch and stain resistant, while the lid and sleeve are non-porous and antibacterial as well as stain and odour resistant. All of which means they are easy to care for!

End of life

These are made to last a lifetime so we hope you don't get to this point. Otherwise, these are fully recyclable, check with your local recycling facility for correct disposal. 

Products

Each cup comes in a cardboard box with paper stickers. Inside is a small booklet sharing all the amazing things about JOCO. ­

How they come packaged to us

There are 4 cups in a small inner cardboard box and then in a larger cardboard outer box, both will be reuse of course. Other than the tape and invoice sleeve there is no other plastic in the delivery.
