Return and Recycle Razor Blades In New Zealand with Cali Low Waste Beauty - Thanks to Caliwoods

Razor Blades are small and sharp so they generally cannot be recycled in New Zealand in your regular pick ups. Read on to find out how you can recycle your Safety Razor Blades.

Caliwoods is a Social Enterprise which means the main reason we are in business is for Purpose! (our purpose is reducing plastic pollution and helping along Sustainability in New Zealand if you're new here).

So...when they were looking at a low-waste alternative to all those pesky plastic razors, they needed to provide an end-of-life solution for all those used blades. This is called Product Stewardship for anyone who would like to look into this further.

Here you can return your Safety Blades to Caliwoods and they will repurpose or recycle them - even if they are from another brand.

step by step...

1. USE - Use, love and shave sustainably until the blades are no longer sharp enough for the job.

2. DRY - Clean the blade and dry thoroughly

3. POST / DROP - Post the Blades back to us, or drop off at collection point! Once you have 40 or more, seal the supplied envelope and wrap it into another - so the mailing staffs hands are safe.

4. REPURPOSE - This bit is Caliwoods job. Most councils and recycling centres don't accept single blades because of their small size and sharp edges. Using people power and the magic of squirrelling these blades away over time, we have a few creative ideas for using the material and/or there will be enough to feasibly recycle.

ways to return...

CALI RETURNS ENVELOPE via Post - Customers can use the returns envelope that comes with their Stainless Razor, Luxe Copper Razor or Razor Refill Pack to send their clean and dry blades straight back to Caliwoods. Please double wrap.

OTHER BRAND via Post - Anyone can return blades to Caliwoods, even if you didn't buy them from them initially. Please return blades in a clean and dry state and make sure they are securely wrapped with no chance of a blade escaping through your packaging.

COLLECTION POINTS - You can drop your clean used blades into a local collection point. These are CaliWoods Retailers or Community points. As with the post methods, please make sure all blades are in their envelope or securely wrapped. See the list below to find one near you.
